Most of you know me as a probate trial lawyer, trying inheritance cases from Palm Beach Gardens to Delray Beach. I also love to travel and love all things Italian. (They do so much right ! Art, food, wine, cars, fashion ….) Our West Palm Beach probate law firm spends a lot of time in the probate court, but we also eat and drink too much coffee. Most of the time, we are eating between court appearances, client meetings or probate research on Clematis Street. We go to the Starbucks on Clematis a lot: it’s literally around the corner from our West Palm Beach probate litigation law firm.

Many Palm Beach estate planning attorneys, indeed their clients, know who is going to file a will contest in the Palm Beach probate court.
Congratulations to Bridget Baratta of Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, http://www.oapb.org/, for the recent Palm Beach Post article about her fine work in the world of philanthropy.

A Palm Beach probate appeals court just handed down, two days ago, a ruling that one’s cremated ashes are not “property” under the Florida Probate Code. This probate case from the Delray Beach Courthouse dealt with two parents who could not agree on where to lay their son’s ashes, after the son was cremated.

The south Florida publication that blew the lid on PED’s and Alex Rodriquez has brought to you more investigative news: this time concerning Miami guardianships. When a guardianship is created in Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale or Miami’s probate courts for an adult, the court appointed guardian is given great power & authority. The Florida guardian = fiduciary who is charged with protecting the rights of the person who needs assistance. Take a look at some characteristics of Palm Beach guardianships which you may not have known about; and consider reading The New Times article on guardianships, whose link is at the end of this Palm Beach probate commentary.
