Midland Daily News reported on June 1, 2017 that the Midland County Probate Court has officially hired their youngest, cutest employee yet- an eight week old Labrador puppy! The puppy, Clyde, has officially started his training as a therapy dog in the probate and family court. He will live with one of the judges, Judge Dorene S. Allen.

Just like the Palm Beach County Probate and Family Courts, the Midland County Probate and Family Courts( located in Michigan) deal with many cases involving neglected children and people with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. According to the article, “Clyde’s job will include roaming free in the lobby and courtroom, as well as attending hearings to help ease people’s fears and stress.”  Will Florida probate lawyers soon encounter therapy dogs in the courtroom? Will the Palm Beach County probate court or the Broward County Probate Court hire a therapy dog? How could therapy dogs help guardianship hearings in Palm Beach run more smoothly?
