Uncategorized Jan 19, 2018

On January 19, 2018, MSN reported that singer Dolores O’Riordan had passed away. She was best known for her role as the singer in the renowned band The Cranberries. She was only 46 years old when she passed away unexpectedly.  Did she have a will or a proper estate plan in place? Which trust and estates law firm will handle the probate process for her estate?

A February 8, 2017 New York Times article states that only 42% of American adults have a will. This data was taken from a survey that was published on Caring.com. According to the survey, 81 percent of people 72 and older have one. However, the younger the person, the less likely it is for them to have an estate plan. Hopefully, O’Riordan consulted with an estate planning attorney. Florida probate litigators know that, if you die without a will, your heirs will inherit. They will inherit according to Florida intestacy laws. Who are O’Riordan’s  heirs? Will her three children inherit from her estate? Will her ex-husband inherit under her will, if she has one?
