- All State’s (Florida included) have instituted something called a slayer statute.
- This prevents someone from benefitting from the death of someone they murdered.
- So if you contract a killer to take care of your parents so that you can inherit millions, you will not be getting that money from jail.
- In fact, even if you are acquitted by the murder the probate court may consider you liable for the murder under the lessened standard of evidence not applicable in the criminal courts.
- What happens if you accidentally cause a death that results in you inheriting a substantial Palm Beach estate?
