On January 25, 2017, Rolling Stone reported that Butch Trucks had passed away. Butch Trucks was best known as the famous drummer and co-founder of the Allman Brothers Band. Did he have a Florida will? Are his assets in a Palm Beach trust? Will his two children and his spouse inherit? Will his family need a Palm beach probate lawyer?

The Miami Herald reports that Trucks shot himself in the head in front of his wife, Melinda Trucks. This incident occurred in his condo in West Palm Beach. This means that his estate will most likely be probated in Palm Beach County. The probate process in Florida can become complex if disputes arise and if there is not a solid Florida estate plan. Did Trucks consult with a Florida estate planning attorney before he passed away? Did he have a Palm Beach will at the age of 69?  If he does not have a will, his estate would pass by Florida intestacy laws. This means this his heirs would inherit. His wife and two children would be heirs. To read the entire article regarding his unfortunate death, click here.
