Palm Beach Guardianship: Getting Hearing Time

Palm Beach Guardianship Courts: Give You An Opportunity to Be Heard

• In Palm Beach guardian cases, a person who has an “interest” in the person may have an opportunity to participate in the Palm Beach guardianship.
• If you are an “interested person” such as a family member, advisor, service provider, neighbor, you may be able to take a position and have your thoughts be heard before the Palm Beach Probate Judge.
• In Palm Beach, all guardianship cases are held in the probate division.
• Probate judges in Palm Beach also determine whether someone is incapacitated or not and then they can remove certain rights, leave those rights with the person, or even restore them later.

In this recent Palm Beach guardianship appeals case, the gist of the appellate court opinion is that everyone should be given an opportunity to be heard: to make your case in a Palm Beach probate court.  Sounds simple?  Maybe, but it’s important stuff.
