Same Sex Marriage and Inheritance Rights

In Florida, inheritance rights of a spouse are very valuable. You have a guaranteed inheritance to a minimum of 30 to 50% of the estate unless you signed the prenup. A year ago, the Supreme Court outlawed DOMA, The Defense of Marriage Act. They restricted marriages between heterosexual couples. What does this mean? It means if your gay couple or you’re a homosexual couple, you have inheritance rights that are very, very valuable. If your spouse dies, know what you need to do to exercise and enforce those rights.
