Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Has Passed Away

On July 20, 2017, CNBC reported that Chester Bennington, the renowned singer for Linkin Park, has allegedly committed suicide. He was found dead in his house in Los Angeles, California. Bennington leaves behind a wife and six children. Did he have an estate plan in place? Who will inherit his wealth? Who will inherit rights to his beloved music? Did he have a will?

In 2014, Forbes magazine reported that, surprisingly, 51% of Americans between age 55 and 64 do NOT have a will. An April 27, 2016 Forbes article states that ,”according to a 2015 Rocket Lawyer survey, 64% of Americans in general don’t have a will.” However, considering his wealth and fame, hopefully, he had at least a simple estate plan.

Florida probate litigators and trust attorneys know that many people die without a will. Sometimes, unfortunate things happen and loved ones lose their lives much sooner than expected. Did the rock star have a will at only 41 years old? Had he created an estate plan with an estate planning lawyer? Click here to read the CNBC article regarding his unfortunate death. Estate planning lawyers in West Palm Beach could probably guess that more elderly people have wills than younger people. This Forbes article confirms this. In addition, the article says that “of those surveyed without a will, most (60%) indicated they simply haven’t gotten around to making one yet while just over a quarter (27%) don’t feel that it’s urgent.” Will Bennington’s beloved wife and children inherit everything?
